The SharePoint Capacity Planning Tool (Beta) provides a wealth of helpful information when planning a SharePoint Products and Technologies deployment; helping administrators, consultants, and IT Pros determine the potential required hardware investment(s) and topologies to support and meet requirements for availability and performance or even the affect of introducing additonal offices with their own unique bandwidth and latency constraints.

This great tool allow you extract data from a SharePoint Database directly through SLQ. So in case of a crash, if you just want to restore a few documents, don't bother to install a new SharePoint Server, just restore your SQL backup in a new BD and use «SharePoint Database Exporter».

Many thanks to Pascal Gill who gave us this great tool for free.

Almost all the IT news sites covered this great news. I think it was predictable that Microsoft would remove Reduced Functionality Mode (RFM) sooner or later. I am just a little surprised that they gave up so soon. My personal term for RFM and Vista activation in general is Windows Genuine Activation mess (WGA). If you have been reading this blog for some time now, then you know what I am talking about.
