If you tried to install Windows 2003 R2 components (disc 2) on a Windows 2003 server that have SP2 installed you will see the following popup :

| Setup cannot continue because this product disc is incompatible with the service pack installed on this computer. To complete the installation of Windows Server 2003 R2, you will need to insert the latest version of Windows Server 2003 R2 Disc 2.

To install 2003 R2 components on 2003 SP2 you have to make a 2003 R2 CD2 slipstreamed with SP2. To create this CD2 read the section To create an integrated installation of Windows Server 2003 R2 and SP2 in the Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 Installation and Deployment Guide and create an ISO.
